"Vivrant" Thing

Kicking this post off with a nod to one of my fave Q-tip songs cause this skirt definitely made me feel like a "special girl, real good girl" (ok I'm done).  This skirt is amazingly vibrant and that's definitely what drew me in. I picked it up from an online boutique called D'iyanu that sells different African printed designs, and I must say, I absolutely love it! Plus it gets bonus points for pockets! I added a denim top, burnt orange heels, and gold hoops to complete the look.  Get into the details below.  Here's to kicking off another amazing week! Be kind and dress well.

The Party's Over

Well, the party may just be beginning with temps on the rise, but winter's fun is seemingly coming to an end.  And on this first day of spring, it seemed the season wanted to send a message on its way out.  Although the temps have been unusually high the past couple of weeks (highs in mid to upper 70s), today topped out around 55 degrees with a low in the 30s.  As such, and in tribute to the end of the chilly season, I decided to break out one of my fave coats from the season one last time.  I kept the styling pretty simple with this color blocking of the coat as the centerpiece.  I did step it up a notch with my foot decor - adding sassy suede cutout booties.  Perfect for transitioning! Get into the deets below and see how I styled the coat before here (it can be worn two ways - so extra cool points awarded).  Have a fabulous week and be kind to one another! The world could use more love.

All About the Pleats

Getting ready to start a new work week and decided to do a little blogging! I'm really trying to keep up my goal of more posts this year (at least 3 a month - which I missed in February, whoops) so help keep me honest!

This skirt was love at first sight.  I was in the Limited for the first time in a really long time styling a client for a campaign she was doing with them. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of cute (and affordable) pieces they had, plus we got an extra 20% off , so I indulged in a few things.  This skirt was my first pick.  Rich color, pleated details, (faux) leather  - what's not to love? These details created a nice juxtaposition of feminine and edgy, and, as I've gotten older, I've really come to appreciate pieces that outlast more than one season.  I love pieces that dabble in a trend but still have classic hues and shapes. I kept the rest of the look romantically neutral with a blush wrap blouse and nude pumps.  Love how these colors came together, so you'll probably see this color combo from me again! Get into the deets below and thanks for stopping by! Go out and slay this week. :)

Prints

I typically keep my outfits centered around solid colors but decided to mix it up a little with this post. This skirt was another find from the Altuzarra for Target collection a few years ago.  As a lover of pencil skirts and high slits, we were a match made in heaven.  I kept the remainder of the outfit simple with a denim shirt and nude pumps.  Unless I'm having a truly bold moment and decide to mix prints (gasp), this is typically how I style my prints - keeping the print item as the focal point.  Try it out with some of the pieces below and make it your own.  Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!
