Office Style: Made You Blush

I haven't posted my office style on here much, so I decided to take some pics of my outfit yesterday. Blazers with pencil skirts and sheath dresses are pretty much my "uniform" for work.  Occasionally, I throw in some slacks (you, know when it's time to shave :).  I find that maintaining a standard wardrobe pairing helps keep my mornings less hectic, but I try to keep things interesting with the details.  On this day, I paired a skirt I scored at the hidden gem known as JC Penny with a white tank and blush blazer.  The gold asymmetrical zipper and cute but subtle split made all the difference with this skirt... and as I stated in previous posts, I love asymmetrical pieces and unique hems.  The blush blazer and pumps added more feminine touches and when all put together, made for a professional yet still stylish outfit.  I definitely recommend filling your closet with neutral blouses, tanks, and blazers.  Blazers always add a little more polish to a look, and neutral tops make pairings easier and more versatile.  Hope this gives you a little office style inspo! Blues Clues

I have a love/hate relationship with jumpsuits. They are a great one piece alternative to dresses, but the proportions can sometimes get tricky for people like myself who lack supermodel legs and have short torsos.  I found this one last year at Forever 21, and though it's dimensions aren't perfect, the color is amaze balls (this bright hue is my fave to wear), and with a few adjustments, I make it work. The adjustable straps provide a little assistance.  Getting this tailored to be taken in at the waist and hemmed a few inches would be ideal.  Since I've been too lazy to make those adjustments to a $20 jumpsuit, I typically wear heals, and take advantage of a few strategic pins.  On this day, it served it's purpose for a quick and casual brunch with the girls.  I couldn't bring myself to wear heels though and opted for cute sandals.  Get into the details and similar items below. Happy Friday!

Leather Tees and Skinny Jeans

I wonder who first thought to upgrade the ultimate staple, the t-shirt, into an edgy little statement item just by adding a little leather (or in this case, faux leather). Genius.  It took me a while to find one that worked for me, so when I found this one, I got it in white and black.  They pair really well with skinny/straight leg pants and pencil skirts. For this look, I added skinny jeans and my new fave strappy sandals for a a cute casual look. Taken on a weekend while visiting my folks, I also got to take advantage of cute country landscapes for my background...  they just add a happier feel to my photos in my opinion.  Check out the outfit details below, and ignore the sinking heel in the grass pics... didn't want to cooperate :).  Have an amazing week!

Step by Step

This simple tank dress is elevated by a step hem, and, for that reason, I had to get it!  I'm a sucker for unique hem lines.  I'm also on the hunt for more midi length tank dresses for the summer. They allow me to create cute and easy outfits when I'm on the go and  also pack easily for fun getaways. To add a little interest to the outfit, I paired the dress with leopard Steve Madden sandals. I always try to keep my looks clean with one main focal point - busy outfits drive me crazy - so I kept my other accessories minimal.  Hope you all enjoy! Get into the deets below.

Easy Breezy

When visiting my parents a few weekends ago, I threw on this breezy maxi for a cute and comfortable look. I hadn't packed many accessories on the trip, so though I would have liked a nice statement necklace with this, it was still perfect for traveling and a warm spring day in the country.  I may do another post with this dress with a few more accessories to show some versatility in styling. Basic jersey dresses like this are a staple for me in the spring and summer, and I can't wait to pullout the rest of mine for the warm weather.  Hope you enjoy!  (Classic mustang backdrop courtesy of my dad! He loves classic/vintage cars - disregard the mud, we have dirt roads around here).

Boyfriends and Blazers

Fell in love with this blazer I found at Macy's.  And the cherry on the top was the fact that I snagged a $130 blazer on clearance for... wait for it... $15!!! It doesn't get any better.  I decided to pair it with some low rise boyfriend jeans, simple black sandals, and a red lip.  All together it created an easy casual and chic weekend look.  Get into the details below. Hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday weekend!
