Color Pop

Since winter finally decided to show up in Atlanta, I decided to try out one of my new sweater coats. I recently discovered a store called Few Moda and fell in love with this item (and I scored it on sale!). With it's bright yellow and gray color blocking, it brings a little vibrancy to the season.  I would advise you to be careful when ordering from here, however, as I've found the sizing can vary widely, and they have a very short return period.  To complement the coat, I decided to keep the base of my outfit pretty simple with a white tank and dark wash denim. I did glam it up a bit with the accessories though, adding a metallic pump and a wool hat.  Get into the details below and have an amazing week!

Dresses and Boots

Happy New Year loves!  I hope everyone is ready to have a ridiculously amazing 2016!

For my first post of the new year, I'm actually posting a look I never got around to last year. Hopefully procrastination is one thing I can leave in 2015. This year I'm planning to devote more time to this blog and really exploring my love for fashion. You guys keep me honest! I've always been an introvert and so concerned with others' opinions.  One thing 2015 really reinforced was that, in fashion and in life, you just have to be comfortable in your own skin. People will talk regardless. So going forward, the plan is to be me with no apologies.

I was stuck on black during December, so after this post I'm planning to take a little break from it. For this pairing, I slipped on a funky black and white mini dress I picked up from Garb boutique (Toya's New Orleans store) on vacay a few years ago and Steve Madden knee boots.  I love the different textures and details of the dress. The wedge on the boots make them super comfortable, and the suede is really warm.  I added a black blazer and gold cuff to finish off the look.

I thought the combo created a fun little look.  Get the details below and make this year your best one yet!

Such A Lady

Tis the season for holiday parties, and for me, the most exciting part of going to a party is the opportunity to dress up.  Recently, I attended a holiday soiree for the local Atlanta chapter of Levo League, an organization focused on empowering women and providing a network to help elevate their careers.

For this occasion,  I decided to pull out a skirt I purchased from Express over a year ago that I never found a reason to wear.  I fell in love with the sheer insets of the skirt at the time and had to get it. And who doesn't love a full a-line skirt?  It was the perfect mix of a classic silhouette with a little sexy.  To make sure my skirt remained the focal point, I kept my top simple by adding a cute black cami.  I have fallen in love with these reversible camis from Express (currently on sale).  They are versatile yet classic and provide the perfect foundation for many of my outfits.  I also kept my accessories minimal (as per usual) and added my fave Hershey kiss necklace and a silver bracelet.  For shoes, I decided to step it up a notch with my So Kates.  These were definitely an investment for me, so I only wear them when the feeling moves me. No worries, though, as my specialty is affordable fashion (I love a good deal) and I don't think you have to break the bank to look good,  I have included a few more wallet friendly options below. All together, this outfit made me feel like such a lady! Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Suit and Tie

I finally got around to posting this look! I was inspired by another blogger to try a "suited" look. (I say suited loosely as my look is actually a mix and match of separates). While perusing my closet, I found that, with a little creativity, I had all the items I needed to pull the outfit together.  I started with columnist ankle pants from Express which have been pretty heavy in my work rotation. Then, I added a white button up blouse and black blazer with tuxedo trim - both recently picked up from H&M.  For shoes, I decided to rock two texture black pumps from Zara. Now for the tie.  I own no ties (although now I want some), so this is where a little re-purposing came in.  I found a shirt dress in my closet with a black sash and thought, "why not?!"  With a little maneuvering, the sash turned in to a cute little neck tie.  And there you have it!  Get into this look as an alternative to traditional cocktail dresses for holiday parties.  Details below...

Mix & Match

So, I found a way to re-style two of my fave fall pieces.  This sleeveless trench provided the perfect amount of balance to the form fitting dress I paired it with.  To accessorize, I added d'orsay nude pumps, and styled the look both with and without my newest hat purchase.  I loved the color combo that came together here (especially since the wine color is currently heavy in my rotation.  See how I styled the trench previously here and the hat here.  Get into the deets below, and thanks for stopping by! Oh, and don't mind the change in scenery - the weather wasn't my friend that day.
