Get Me Bodied

Had a little fun in New Orleans after my bday, and this was the outfit I picked for the first night out. My boyfriend and I went out for dinner and a night of jazz at a cute little spot there called Snug Harbor.  Jazz legend Ellis Marsalis put on a great show with a few surprise guests, the food was great, and the drinks were... well, potent.  For the occasion, I put together a white wrap skirt with a deep V bodysuit and minimalist sandals. This was my first bodysuit since childhood days. While it definitely has some advantages in fit (eliminates all the bunching from tucking in shirts), I have to get used to the one piece feel - and find some tips for getting out of it for quick bathroom trips. :) Later I layered on a mixed fabric jacket for the windy Nola nights.  It was just the right amount of sexy for me and was the perfect outfit for a fun night full of culture.  Get into the details below! Sending positive vibes your way for a great week!

Jump! Jump!

It's jumpsuit and romper season!  I thought this one was fun because of the cute print, and I was so excited that it actually fit my proportions! I've mentioned in previous posts that jumpsuits can be tricky.  As most people aren't evenly proportioned and often wear different sizes on top and bottom, it can be difficult finding a one piece that fits well in the torso, crotch, and hips. Nothing messes up a look more quickly than fit issues, so pay attention to those details.  This is one of the few I found that worked for me. It mixes a cargo style with a more modern silhouette, and with jogger style legs and pockets, it's super comfortable. I added some color to this black and white ensemble with burnt orange heels and a deep burgundy bag.  All together, a quick and easy look for spring.  Get into the deets below and thanks for stopping by! Stay stylish ladies!

"Vivrant" Thing

Kicking this post off with a nod to one of my fave Q-tip songs cause this skirt definitely made me feel like a "special girl, real good girl" (ok I'm done).  This skirt is amazingly vibrant and that's definitely what drew me in. I picked it up from an online boutique called D'iyanu that sells different African printed designs, and I must say, I absolutely love it! Plus it gets bonus points for pockets! I added a denim top, burnt orange heels, and gold hoops to complete the look.  Get into the details below.  Here's to kicking off another amazing week! Be kind and dress well.

The Party's Over

Well, the party may just be beginning with temps on the rise, but winter's fun is seemingly coming to an end.  And on this first day of spring, it seemed the season wanted to send a message on its way out.  Although the temps have been unusually high the past couple of weeks (highs in mid to upper 70s), today topped out around 55 degrees with a low in the 30s.  As such, and in tribute to the end of the chilly season, I decided to break out one of my fave coats from the season one last time.  I kept the styling pretty simple with this color blocking of the coat as the centerpiece.  I did step it up a notch with my foot decor - adding sassy suede cutout booties.  Perfect for transitioning! Get into the deets below and see how I styled the coat before here (it can be worn two ways - so extra cool points awarded).  Have a fabulous week and be kind to one another! The world could use more love.
