Cropped

So, I'm not what you'd call a "crop top girl."  Every now and then I feel the urge to pull one out because sometimes my tummy cooperates and sometimes it's not having it.  When I do pull one out, it is typically for a look like this - a little longer top paired with something high-waisted.  Just a little sliver of midriff does it for me.  I love the combo of olive green and black (puts me in the mood for the quickly approaching fall season and great transitional colors), so I paired this black crop top from H&M with a wrap skirt from Express. To complete the look, I added some of my fave black ankle strap sandals.  I was going for cute and comfortable, and this fit the bill.  Check out the details below.  Have an awesome week, loves!

White Jeans At Last

I had been searching for a pair of white jeans that I felt comfortable in for some time.  They were either too tight, too sheer, or ill fitting around the waist. After a year and a half of returns and wasted money on those I never got around to returning, I finally found these.  I've come to realize that most of my recent jeans purchases have come from Express and these were no exception.  Until a couple of years ago, I was never a fan of their jeans.  With their recent collections however, they've put out a multitude of styles, washes, and even lengths (realizing that women can vary in height too)!  But most of all, I've found that they FIT really well.  Just enough stretch to not have that "squished booty look" and still fit in the waist.  To celebrate this victory, I decided to pair my new jeans with a white tank and a denim shirt around the waist for a casual look.  To keep it cute, I added camel toned Calvin Klein heels.  Despite the heel height, they are super comfy because of cushioning in the sole and I love the gold detail on the heel.  You may have noticed I tried a new look with the hair.  Tried some twists for the first time for my recent vacay and I'm loving their versatility.  Let's see how long this lasts. :)

See below for more outfit deets!  Hope you're having a fabulous week!

A Little Twist

This outfit came together for an impromptu Sunday brunch.  Lightweight jersey dresses are perfect for the sweltering heat of summer in Georgia.  I thought this one was interesting because it creates the silhouette of a wrap dress with a cute twist at the waist.  I also loved the balance it created with just a little thigh action and more coverage on one side and the back.  I'm all about proportions and balance, and this dress handles both of those effortlessly.  To add a little pop, I accessorized with a statement necklace and sandals, both with gold accents.  All together it created a cute but casual look for a Sunday Funday.  Get the details below! Happy Tuesday loves!

Sleeveless Trench

The sleeveless trench.  I've been waiting to get my hands on one of these for a while.  Then, once I got it, it's been sitting in my closet for about 3 months waiting to make it's debut. FINALLY, I took it out for a spin.  I knew the trench would be a statement in and of itself, so I decided to pair it with a few of my favorite summer staples:  skinny jeans and a white tank.  I love how these items came together.  The breezy, flowy movement of the trench makes it perfect for summer and is really forgiving for those of us who haven't quite perfected that summer body yet (I tried to break up with that dang bra strap roll months ago, but it's the clingy type). I completed my look with some cute sandals I picked up last year from Nastygal. Love the pop of white on the ankle. I haven't purchased many items from them but have found that they have some super cute shoes!

I'm really looking forward to all the other pairings I can create with this trench; It'd be perfect with some distressed shorts or pencil skirts or...  anyway, I digress.  Enjoy loves and Happy Monday! Check out the deets below.

Grown-Up Overalls

So, when I traditionally think of overalls, the word "chic" never came to mind.  Childhood memories of denim and corduroy one piece disasters I once coveted would come to mind.  Or even the over-sized contraptions of the 90s (with only one strap buckled of course, to keep in line with the 90s one-side disheveled styling).  Neither of these images fit into the more contemporary styling I've grown into as a young lady.  Then these wonders came along.  Although still very true to the overall style, the color, cut, and details added a more modern grown up feel.  With this, I felt like I could be true to my current style while still tapping into the more playful feel of overalls.  I added classic single strap sandals and a red lip to complete my modern day styling of these classics.  Overall (pun intended), I was pleased with how everything came together and for a moment, was taken back to those carefree childhood days... until an image of jean "short-alls" (the short length version of overalls) flashed and then I was back.  Hope this provides a little inspiration for one piece styling! Office Style: Made You Blush

I haven't posted my office style on here much, so I decided to take some pics of my outfit yesterday. Blazers with pencil skirts and sheath dresses are pretty much my "uniform" for work.  Occasionally, I throw in some slacks (you, know when it's time to shave :).  I find that maintaining a standard wardrobe pairing helps keep my mornings less hectic, but I try to keep things interesting with the details.  On this day, I paired a skirt I scored at the hidden gem known as JC Penny with a white tank and blush blazer.  The gold asymmetrical zipper and cute but subtle split made all the difference with this skirt... and as I stated in previous posts, I love asymmetrical pieces and unique hems.  The blush blazer and pumps added more feminine touches and when all put together, made for a professional yet still stylish outfit.  I definitely recommend filling your closet with neutral blouses, tanks, and blazers.  Blazers always add a little more polish to a look, and neutral tops make pairings easier and more versatile.  Hope this gives you a little office style inspo!
