Pencil Skirt Love

Something about that thigh split gets me every time.  I have too many of these sneaky thigh split pencil skirts. I love the silhouette and length of a pencil skirt, but the front split always add just a hint of sexy.  The split does kill the look for the office for me, but it is a cute option for a nice dinner or date night.  Paired this with a black bodysuit and a blazer on the shoulders in case the evening gets chilly and then finished it off with barely there sandals. Get into the details below. Thanks for stopping by and  stay stylish ladies!

You Look So Much Better When You Smile

I am soooo behind in my posts, because, you know, life.  So, this is a quick post to get back on track. More content to come!

I. Love. Cobalt. Blue.  For some reason it just makes me feel all happy and "glowy."  So while I still had my curls, I decided to pair this ASOS dress with simple two strap black sandals.  A no fuss look, but the texture of the dress and peplum hem added interesting details, and the minimal styling kept the focus on the vibrant hue.  Oh, and since I was feeling "glowy" and cheesing all over the place in these pics, I count my smile as an added accessory.  The deck decided to be covered in pollen this day, and I almost skipped this post due to the less than pristine background, but hey, life's too short to waste good outfit pics on a little bit of nature's glitter.  :)

Get into the details below!  I hope your week is off to an amazing start!

Versatility

The weather has been a little unpredictable lately, especially down here in the South.  All these unexpected temp changes can foil the most thoughtful outfit plans.  With this post, I wanted to show a little versatility to help in times like these.  This look centers around a plaid shirt dress I picked up in the fall from H&M.  These dresses can be tricky as the pattern and style could give you pajama realness pretty easily if not executed properly.  This one is aided by a sash at the waist which provides waist definition and adds a detail often not included in the sleepwear equivalent.  My original plan for this look paired the dress with suede over the knee boots.  A nice look, but not optimal for really cold or much warmer weather.  So, for colder times, I layered on my fave wool coat (see how I wore before here).  In addition to its functionality, the coat added polish to the look, making it a little more interesting and a little dressier.  For warmer weather, I lost the boots and the coat and added classic white Converse sneakers.  This instantly created a much more casual and relaxed look.  So no matter the weather or your mood, a cute shirt dress (not necessarily plaid) can be the perfect starting point. Hope this gives you some ideas and thanks for stopping by!

Window Pane

A few weeks ago it got legitimately, wind cutting through my soul, cold in the A (which means like 30 degrees in the south), and I had to pull out the big guns.  I purchased this classic camel coat from ASOS last winter, and it has served me well. It's 100% wool and long enough to keep my skinny legs warm. I decided to pair it with a black tee, black skinny jeans, and black ankle boots and then experimented with the styling a little by trying a streamlined version of the look and then bringing in some interesting details with a grey hat and windowpane scarf.  I really enjoyed both looks but loved how the accessories kicked it up a notch (and also helped combat the frigid temps).  Get into the details below and thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful and stylish week loves!
