Poncho Dreams

Warning, when it's Thanksgiving and upwards of 70 degrees (in Georgia), don't pull out this poncho (as I currently sit in a tank and jeans).  I wore this a few weekends ago when the temps were in the 30s.  I had been waiting to pull this out as I love the dramatic effect of ponchos.  I picked it up from an end of season sale at Express last winter for a great deal.  I decided to pair it with another great score from last fall, Steve Madden over the knee boots.  Bonus:  these are currently on sale at Macy's for $89! Over the knee boots have been hot for a few fall seasons now and show no signs of slowing down.  These were my substitutes for the $800 Stuart Weitzman version. I kept the rest of the outfit neutral with grey distressed skinnies and a black tank (side note, you can never have too many black and white tanks and tees - clutch).  All together, a stylish and cozy outfit for winter - whenever that comes back.  Get into the details below.  Here's wishing you the happiest and blessed Thanksgiving! I'm so grateful for all of life's many blessings, but family tops the list.  Make sure you get some time in with the people who matter most today!  Stay stylish!

Day & Night

So in my last post I asked for feedback on what the next one should be.  I got a resounding (which equates to one response) request for both options.  Woop Woop! That being said, the day to night look is up first!  Now this can be tricky because I chose to use leather in the look.  When wearing leather in the workplace, first assess your work place - you can tell the level of edginess or trendyness your office allows.  This usually works for entrepreneurs, tech, media, and casual/trendy offices. Next, make sure to still keep the look professional.  Balance out the edge with some structure.  For this look,  I added a blazer, blush cami, and nude pumps for a modest flair.  Finally, pay attention to fit. Leather is naturally more clingy, but make sure it's not skin tight (as in, don't get the second skin version you saw a celeb wear from topshop).  Fit tip:  It should not bandage your knees together.

To take it to night, I ditched the blazer to let the cami take center stage.  The delicate details of the cami transition perfectly into evening.  Removing the blazer also put the skirt on full display.  To kick it up a knotch, I traded the pumps for my go to nude strappy sandals.  Nothing adds a little sexy like a strappy shoe. A little leather, a little cami, a sexy shoe and you're ready for your evening activities.  Get into the details below and and have a stylish week!

Leather Weather

This jacket just makes me feel some type of way whenever I wear it.  Everyone needs a great leather (or faux leather) jacket.  Definitely a fall/winter staple.  It instantly adds edge to any outfit and can be paired with almost anything.  For this look, I decided to layer it on top of an olive green sweater dress.  A good sweater dress is another great add to your fall rotation, and I love the fit of this one - super comfy but still chic. It's also versatile enough to be dressed up with strappy heeled sandals and cute accessories for a date night or dressed down with a bomber jacket for casual weekend activities. I finished the look off with cutout booties, a slick ponytail, and silver hoops. Get into the details below! What would you like to see next?  1. Work to night look or 2.  One look - heels vs. flats.  Let me know your vote and thanks for stopping by!
